Drop Bear Grylls & Les Stroud on an Island

What needs to happen is Survivor Man Les Stroud and Man vs. Wild guy Bear Grylls need to be dropped off on the island from Castaway.  The loser would be decided by who lost the most percentage of original body weight.  Who do you think would win?

Bear Grylls would stay in his hotel overnight, Les Stroud would build his own hotel out of bear island necessities and proceed to wail on his harmonica all night long.

If it was them both hanging out and surviving it would probably be pretty even.

Given that, Bear Grylls even says Les does it real.


By the way, new Survivorman episodes in the works. Two of the episodes he will bring his son, which Les says he knows more about Call of Duty than starting a fire.


There is no doubt Bear could survive, but what is shown in his cancelled M vs W show was all for drama and action. Why climb a water fall when you could spend 20 minutes and walk around it? Hell, even the late great Ron Hoods quit helping with his show after the first episode.

M vs W fun to watch, easy to make fun off. Look at these wild horses, I will now attempt to ride one. Why are wild horses  shod, and why are they quarter horses.
Survivorman, tediuos to watch, may learn something.fuck this show is boring, all he does is complain about trying to start a fire.

Honestly I would have enjoyed Man VS Wild better if it wasn't just so over the top.

Shouldn't the winner be the one who lost less weight?

If they loose more weight, that means they are not getting enough food aka they are not surviving as well as the other.

Also, Bear grylls never claims to be on a survival mission like Les is.

Bear just demonstrates things to do in a survival situation

Problem is, some of that shit don't work. Can't squeeze water from elephant dung, unless someone just soaked it with a bottle of water. Drinking urine is typically a bad thing. Although that one is kind of funny with Dual Survival. Cody, No that is bad, Military guy, it's in my books, I drink pee!

Dual Survival is my favorite survival show, was kind of dissappointed that they got rid of the old army guy and replaced him.

I swear that Cody, the hippy guy, is blazed in a few of the scenes. His eyes are even really bloodshot

Bear Grylls' show is more staged looking, but he's not claiming to be out there alone. Les Stroud is actually alone when he does his show I think, but he often whines a lot about shitty conditions etc. Dual Survival is way better than either IMO, more educational and entertaining.

In answer to the original question, I think Stroud would lose more because he's pretty pudgy to begin with.

I remember this one part of Man vs Wild where Grylls finds and skins a dead seal and wears its skin as a swimsuit or whatever, it was just ridiculous :lol:

I like watching that one, except when they over due the drama conflict between them. I guess it kind of serves purpose though, watching a bickering couple figure out whats best, since it could happen in real life.

Cody is the real deal, it would be neat to see him do a real survival show someday on his own.

Yeah, someone on here told me about that show and I like it a lot better than survivorman. I'm pretty sure survivorman blazes off camera too, might have something to do with some of his harebrained schemes.

Bear Grills, he gets a lot of support from his camera crew, hell for all we know he might even have a stunt double or two...  But he's also stayed in hotels overnight when he claimed to be surviving...
