I missed the large quantity thing, but I think I was thinking about panman's post when I wrote it.  I was thinking that throwing it over the fence would be bad advice maybe not for you though, because you live in the area.

We ground ours down the last year we went and put them into capsules.  I wanna say we put them in with my vitamins.  I try to be super strict about talking a multi and a fish oil everyday.  I can't remember exactly what we did with them, but it was all good and I remember the Dr. John set was amazballs
