dude, i was just saying the exact opposite the other day.

in my opinion, the ONLY thing even more obnoxious than people who act like the self-imposed PC police, are the people who basically live an "anti-PC" lifestyle, as if it's automatically funny, clever, and or philosophically desirable to say and do offensive things for no other reason than to offend people.

now hear me out, i'm pretty fucking far from PC. hell i love 9/11 jokes, i blaspheme numerous religions on a daily basis, and generally love to push the buttons of those who take themselves too seriously. but for example when it comes to comedy, a couple of examples of comedians who totally epitomize my point are daniel tosh and that guy with his new show "the jizzelnik offensive" or whatever it's called. now when either of these guys tells a funny joke, whether it's offensive or not i will laugh just like anybody else. but my problem with them is that they do not seem to understand the idea that "pushing the envelope" and making people think "ooohhhhhhhh he did NOT just go there!" is NOT the same thing as being funny. it's the same reason carlos mencia and all his wetback jokes sucked. they didn't suck because they were offensive to mexicans, but because everyone who's ever lived in a town with more than 10 latinos in it had heard every stupid joke about tequila and tortillas and climbing fences to cross the border a MILLION TIMES, yet whenever a joke would bomb he would fall back on the "OH YOU GUYS ARE JUST UPTIGHT YOU HYPOCRITES" like the unfunny coward he is.

sorry i just kinda went on a tirade there. but i disagree with your statement, OP. i think people who make a point of being un-PC are even worse than the PC police.

No, its a term of art that works just fine.  You can't reduce such terms to their etymologies or their composing words. 

In chemistry we have a term such as molecular orbital.  This suggests an incorrect notion that the electron orbits the nucleus akin to a classical physical object, yet this is not true and has been known to be not true for a long time.  We still use the term and there's no reason to change.

Should we worry about driveway and parkway suggesting incorrect functions for these features?  I think not.  This is just silly.

I don't use it that often. It just doesn't have the same flow to it that fuck and shit do. Once and awhile it sounds alright.
Cunt is just hard to work with and not fuck up the flow of whatever you're saying. It's not nearly as versatile as my usual repertoire of profane words, either.
It is a very angry, passionate sounding word, though. But I seldom raise my voice in person, and it lacks that emphasis if you're quietly saying cunt rather than screaming it at the top of your lungs.

Fuck, for instance, can be incorporated into just about every sentence and be used in just about any conceivable manner. Really just the best fuckin' word around.

I guess you could call it that.  more like a corporate self preservation attitude that's been inflicted upon and transmitted to the witnesses of commercials and talk shows. political correctness has little to no weight in my day to day. Sure there are attitudes that I disagree with, but that doesn't necessitate me attempting to silence the persons voicing them.
