finally got the pics for my flower bed find...
    #1810709 -

the camera i used sucks a lot heh. the spore print was brown with maybe a slight purplish hue to it. the mushrooms are an off-white color. i found them in a flower bed that smelled like it had been recently manured or covered with compost. the rest of the info would be here but someone deleted my previous post about this find.

thanks for the help!

the manured woodchip bed habitat, purplish brown spore print and gills, off-white cap colour, broadly convex cap shape, and the relatively thick white stem with annulus near top, strongly suggest to me genus Stropharia. They do not look stout enough for Agaricus and the stature seems wrong for a coprophilous Psilocybe. Maybe something like a pale Stropharia riparia ?? A hard group to identify from pics.

by broadly convex do you mean...

these are more like the second "illustration".

Could you cut one in half vertically and let us see what the inside looks like?

Happy mushrooming!

now bear in mind that these have been sitting in the fridge for several days and are kind of soggy...

the inside of this mushroom is the same off-white color as the exterior, and it is very fibrous/stringy.  while i was cutting it a couple of strands pulled off kind of like how you would pull off pieces of string cheese to eat.

thanks again

What I wanted to see was how the gills are attached to the stem and if th estem was hollow. Cutting it in half also slightly bruises the mushroom so we get a little idea of how it bruises.

Happy mushrooming!

the stem isn't hollow.

and i don't think the gills are attached to the stem. they look to be attached to the underside of the cap.

i don't notice any brusing really...maybe a slight dark yellowish brusing.

danke
