dvdrip help.
    #18085716 -

Downloaded a 758mb 1080p DVDrip on a warez site (not torrent). Had to download two parts, first part worked fine but the second part which is the file that is 758mb doesn't work. When I open the second file in VLC it just starts from 00:00-00:00 and nothing happens. I've downloaded a couple converters to try and put them together but every converter I've tried won't even let me add the file . They are both .mkv files which is supported by the converter but I can't even add them.

if its 278mb, its not 1080p. also 1080p doesn't come on dvd's, only blu-rays.

but anyways, are you sure its 100% downloaded? maybe try to re-open the torrent, and set it to download the files to the directory where its already downloaded (so it will re-check the file to ensure its completely downloaded). if it's not 100% downloaded, then it will complete the download. or even try to just re-download the file again completely.

also, if it's completely downloaded, and it's still not playing, it may be a codec issue, i.e. you don't have the right codec to play the file. you could try to play the file through " Media Player Home Classic " which is the best video player to use. VLC is great also, VLC usually plays everything.

if neither of the above works, then i don't know. maybe the torrent is just corrupted. go back to the torrent page and check the comments about the film?

worst case scenario just look for a new version of the DVD to download i guess

It is not a torrent download, I downloaded the movie from uploaded.net. Both files were fully downloaded. The movie came in 2 parts, and yes it was a Bluray dvdrip. Part 1 or file (.001) is .97gb and works fine. When I open part 1 up in VLC timer starts at 00:00 and says it ends at 2:37:05 except it actually ends at 1:22:02 which I assume means I have to somehow merge the two files. I don't know how to merge them, but these type of movie files don't download like torrents, if it wasn't fully downloaded the movie should just cut short. Part 2, file (.002) is 797mb, but nothing plays when I open the file up on VLC.

ohhh, does each file have .001 and .002 at the end? you need a program called " HJ Split ". it splits media files into seperate blocks, then you can rejoin them together with the same program. try that, if they have the .001 .002 thing at the end of the file names.

Just figured that out, merging them right now with HJ split hope it works . Thanks for the help though.

Googling this was a damn nightmare... Every way I worded my problem I was getting reviews on Twilight part 1 vs part 2

yeah it'll work, hj split for the win. thats a bit of a dick move for someone to upload a hj splitted file without putting some kind of information or indication of it, because most people would have no idea what to do with the file.

:awedance: Finally... spent 3 hours looking for the solution, and it only took 5min with that HJ program.

I mean I downloaded the movie from warez-bb so it's just probably already well known for most people there. I usually am able to download everything in one part so I've never had this problem before.
