its called comet ison  has never been thru our solar system before.never has beeb exposed to our sun.it will be the brightest comet in the history of mankind.the sun is magnatude  -26  comet ison will be -16 .comet hale bop in 96 was a -1 .it will be half as bright as the sun.it not a joke you can check it out at the nasa website. its kinda scaring me.

its on there .nasa has video of from their satelite telescope deep impact.they took the video january 16-17.its  493 million miles from the telescope.go on the nasa website and search ison c/2012 si .

i think were just gettin a taste of whats coming soon...the russian meteor then california florida and saudi arabian fireballs all within a few days.the comet ison got knocked out of the  oort cloud.that only happens when a perturbance from a large body pushes it out.something like a brown drawf star moving into our solar system.

...I can't believe I'm the one bringing this up. :facepalm:  SEVERAL not seven.

It should be visible to the naked eye for 3+ months.

comet PANSTARRS will be visible in early march.you can see it with your naked eye march 12-13.look in the western horizon at sunset .there will be a cresant moon and the comet. probally will never see it again in your life.two visible comets in one year is very uncommon.i have only ever seen one. comet hale bopp during the summer of 96.cool thing to see.if comet is ison does what they say it will look like a full moon during the middle of the day.very cool
