Furthur by far.

DSO is a decent cover band. My biggest problem is that their bassist is nowhere near as interesting to listen to as Phil Lesh.

Furthur is more of the real thing. They still do what they do and there's a strong psychedelic connection to the audience. The jams are always new and fresh and they arent just trying to play exactly like the grateful dead because they arent. Jeff Chimenti is a fantastic keyboardist. So jazzy and the way he fuses dissonance and consonance and his knowledge of how music works is phenomenal. I also think John Kadlecik is a damn fine guitar player and he always puts all his heart n soul into the music. Plus it's magic. I'm so glad furthur exists. Go see them if you get the chance.

i have to agree, i prefer seeing furthur over DSO, but i am glad to know that through DSO and their replacements the GDF will still continue to grow over the years.

as far as the music goes i think furthur has a much more refined and fine tuned sound that can only come from years and years of doin what they do.

gotta love phil!
