The real tragedy is that there is dwindling public support (and funding) for affordible mental health care, from short-term help to addictions treatment to true psychiatric care for folks with major mental health disorders.  Banning firearms is significantly cheaper, faster, and more politically expedient than attacking the multi-faceted gem of mental illness.

The needing to fight against a tyrannical government is an argument that I still think has it's purpose, but is not even relevant anyways.

No you can't get an auto M60 unless you get a permit from the federal government ever since the National Firearms Act of 1934 and good luck with that. That's another good one I hear from liberals often is that people can't buy switchblades but can buy machine guns.

You sure about that? I see a lot of youtube vids of people firing M60's and someone said there are many models that are still legal but a lot of the common ammunition for it is not. Also, why don't people complain about the NFA or GCA68? It is gun control legislation.
