Don't try to tell me Patlal, that if they put out a well thought out screenplay with some psychedelic twists/special effects that you wouldn't watch it. what a load of rubbish. they could really turn that movie out into a psychedelic wonderland on the bigscreen, and still have some serious gameplay nostalgia.

I'd definitely watch it man. I just quoted the other guy before you.

It would be a wonderful idea. I'm sure the box office would explode. The could make it like Avatar or something. Filled with special effects. Or maybe toy story. You know what I mean. They could also make it like a regular movie. Lots of ways to see it.

That movie was so completely terrible and had so little to do with mario.

A new movie (directed by JJ Abrams) would be funny.

I was a really big Super Mario Bros fan as a child and this movie, for some reason despite not having much similarities to the video games, was one of my favorites.

I owned it on VHS and would watch it religiously.

Recently I purchased a DVD version of it and tried to watch it, only made it 30 minutes into the movie before turning it off. :rofl:

The movie captivated me as a child though.

I'm still waiting for the sequel they hinted at during the end of the film. Actually I remember buying a Nintendo Power magizine and seeing a contest about getting a role in the sequel, I'd be pissed if I won that :burke:

EDIT: For some reason I liked the movie's version of the "mushroom kingdom," that the old king was turned into fungi and was creeping all over the place trying to destroy king koopa.

Also in the beginning of the movie in the Mario Bros apartment they have a psychedelic mushroom poster hanging on the wall.

YES! I watched the movie when I was a kid and I loved it. Probably wouldnt enjoy it as much now, BUT it stars John Leguizamo and I love him in Spun and Romeo and Juliet. He also does a lot of standup.
