Remembering Heath Ledger
    #17595242 -

I'm about a day late but five years ago we lost a great guy. I grew up watching his movies since the late 90's. Here are a few scenes from him

An afternoon in the Hospital - Dark Knight

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (please excuse the poopy quality)

i agree! some people overdose or die for whatever reason and usually we feel sad, but we figure "eh shit happens"

i feel like Heath dying was kind of a shock and kind of still is.

Yeah I was extremely sad that day. It just made me even more mad at the pharma companies.

He was an very talented actor with a very bright future ahead of him, such a shame

The way I remember it, he made a ton of bad teen flicks in the 90s and transited into more respectable work a couple years before his death.  Still though, no one would care so much if his Joker in 'The Dark Knight' wasn't so freakin' phenomenal.  That's really the movie that put him into the big leagues, and accidentally dieing before it being released was a brilliant career move, because there's a real good chance he would've never topped that performance.

Very well deserved posthumous Oscar, but really, apart from that business, what did he do that was so great?  'Ten Things I Hate About You'?  'Candy'?  I dunno.

Your opinion is largely invalid because you got mad at pharmaceutical companies when an actor accidentally died.

Wowzers relax, I'm not trying to debate you. Thanks for invalidating my opinion

It's a personal issue that I have towards the pharma companies. Which is a whole other topic. That I don't want to get into within this thread. It wasn't because of his death that I'm mad at them tho it just strengthened my hatred towards them even more.

That makes no logical sense.

What other genuinely great performances did Ledger give in his career?

Yeah the Joker is amazing, other than that - meh. Never really too impressed. Probably because I don't have a vagina. I always assumed he killed himself

I didnt find his joker performance to be particularly good, I believe people
say it was great because he ODd prior to the release of the film, I personally
saw it as mediocre

Nah man that performance is amazing. I'm not swooning either, I just think it's really good. Maybe a bit overrated because of death but that's natural. I love the scene where he eats the flower and throws the water over his shoulder, when all the people are being held hostage in Bruce Wayne's house. The way he walks and talks. My favorite Joker to date for sure. Sorry, Jack.

The patriot was good too. I think he was a good actor later on, but I didn't like most of his movies. Like I said the patriot and his joker role.

Yes I watch a lot of movies.

Pick it, pack it, fire it up, come along and take a hit from the bong.
