Lincoln, the movie

I greatly enjoyed watching this film. My love of the Civil War predisposed me to like anything having to do with Mr Lincoln. It was a dramatic film about the 13th Amendment and the fight to pass it. It wasn't at all what I expected but it was very well done and left me with an uplifted feeling overall. There's a very good screener copy floating around on the torrent sites, which was what I just viewed.

I saw it yesterday.

It was okay but kinda boring at some parts.

i was actually disappointed. i felt like it didn't live up to the hype. i'd give it a 6.5/10

I am just about ready to pick up 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' by Harriet Beecher Stowe, which is interesting since this movie just came out. Lincoln met Stowe and told her that her book had sparked the civil war.

Were those all deleted scenes?  What about his axe? You know, that guitar he uses to kill the vampires

Different movie. lol This one was a dramatic interpretation of the 13th Amendment getting passed and and the civil war as a backdrop to it all. lol

It was pretty boring IMO but a good movie still...not sure how you could make something like that very entertaining maybe some more battle scenes and gore. Django unchained now that was a real good movie. :cookiemonster:

She probably did spark the war. Not with the book, but with the play based off of it. Most people couldn't read back then, but the play was crazy popular. That and the fugitive slave act, which forced northern states to return escaped slaves to the south, really pissed people off.
