Sassafras albidum
anyone with experience in extraction is there enough psychoactive chemicals to be worth the extraction? got a few plants in my yard wanna look into it more

Yes, if you live where it is endemic it can be worth your while to harvest though it doesn't really have any useful psychoactive compounds. People extract safrole and turn it into MDA or MDMA, but that requires significant investment in terms of time, knowledge, equipment, and risk.

Better to look at other plants if you are looking for things that are psychoactive without transformation.

If you have surplus large trees you could try steam distilling out the sassafras oil (90+% safrole), which is the key precursor for MDx synthesis, but it's far from practical in a home environment. A huge amount of work to get a highly illegal precursor compound that's no fun on its' own anyway.

I'd recommend using them to manufacture root beer over molly any day.
