You seem to keep skirting the fact that you dropped it HARD at LEAST once.

You're right, pixels do die by themselves, on ANY PRODUCT.  Apple doesn't make their displays, they are almost all made by Samsung and LG, the biggest display manufacturers in the world.

Personally, I think tablets are a waste of money, as I said earlier I would never own one if I didn't need it for work.  That being said, the build quality on all of Apple's products in not even close to matched by anyone else.

You can say whatever you want about Apple's policies and their prices, but when it comes to build quality and fit & finish, I can't believe anyone could possibly doubt them.

I owned a Mac Plus, computer worked fine 15 years after I owned it.  Then my father got a few Power PCs, they almost all died within 5 years of him getting them.  He had the same problem with his iMac and his eMacs.  His MacBooks have had a bunch of issues and if he didn't have applecare for them for an extra 2 years he would have been screwed.  I've had issues with some of the computers I've had, mostly used AMD chipset with whatever board was cheap, and whatever graphics card I could get for a decent price.  If any of my PCs ha and an issue I can just buy new hardware, if the Apple has an issue I'm fucked because there aftermarket parts are so god damn expensive.  I never really learned how to fix my dads computers either as he got new ones regularly so I never really needed to.  Even now my gfs macbook pro has issues as does my mom.  My POS laptop I bought used 6 years ago works fine (though it is a piece of shit).  Just my experience though.

What i use the pc for now: checkig email, skype, reading and music. Also writing. All of it I can do onthe tab.  It has a Word program and games and whatnot.  The plus side is its made me spend less time online.

pretty much the same here my laptop is mainly used for holding my music movies and large volume multitasking
for me a tablet is just more usefull to me as i mostly use a comp for the internet/its like having a digital magazine,i can be fully untehered

i use mine for reading and to control spotify. i don't really care about getting on the internet with it.
