i'm not trying to play dumb here, i have read extensively about this topic but i still don't really get it.  from a perspective outside of your borders it just seems strange that it is not a topic of discussion more often.

also, all of these Jewish people in positions of power who have dual American/Israeli citizenships, do you think they have an allegiance to America first or Israel first?  from what i've read it seems pretty obvious that it is the latter so, again, why is this not discussed openly very often?  this point, more so than all others, is the hardest for me to understand.  it just seems treasonous but nobody says a thing.

i guess one of the reasons i can't really relate to this is because i was born and raised in Canada and can honestly say that i have never knowingly met a Jewish person or family in my entire life.  our prime minister Stephen Harper, since taking office, has displayed some blatant pandering to Jewish groups and Israel in general but i've just assumed that that is part of kissing America's ass that all Canadian politicians seem to do.

so Americans, what's the deal???  help me comprehend this unique situation you have with Jews and Israel.
