Anyone in here interested in Astrology?
    #17445132 -

Hello, I'm pretty new here, I am wondering how many of you are interested in astrology. Not just your Zodiac Sign, but actual astrology.

Birth Charts, all the aspects, houses, etc.

if so, what is your Sun, Moon, and Ascendant?

Mines Pisces Sun, Capricorn Moon, Taurus Ascendant

For those of you who have no idea what this means, and your Zodiac Sign doesn't really fit you, perhaps you would like to learn a thing or two about astrology and find out why.

You can start here for a basic birth chart (beginners)

http://astro.cafeastrology.com/cgi-bin/astro/natal

or if you are looking for the most accurate birth chart (not recommended for beginners) then you can go here

http://www.astro.com/cgi/ade.cgi?ract=genchart.cgi&lang=e&cid=j0tfiletl8uSU-u1350082088&nhor=1&nho2=1

You can look up information on planetary aspects and houses on this website

aspects

http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/planetsaspectsastrology.html

houses

http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/planetsinhouses.html

Get involved with this post, you'll be surprised how accurate astrology really is.

Pisces/Aries cusp sun, Libra moon, Virgo ascendent.

I think my sun sign fits me to a T. I'm not sure how thoroughly I actually understand the significance of moon and ascendent signs.

I only have the most basic of interests in astrology, apparently I am a "fiery aquarius"... which supposedly means that I am a classic aquarius in most aspects but I act more like a fire sign certain aspects... now when it comes to the "classic" or "basic" zodiac... I actually have a theory when it comes to that (when don't I have a theory though... I am an aquarian after all :p)

my theory is that the first couple months of a persons life actually have a VERY strong impact on that persons life. someone who is born during winter will be kept indoors and isolated more during their first few months of life than someone born during the summer months. which would even at that early age encourage a more introspective viewpoint which is more steriotypical of the winter or "water" signs... and the more extroverted viewpoint of the summer babies is more steriotypical of the "fire" signs that fall within that point of the year.

Your moon sign is who you are at the core and your feelings.

It is pretty significant, Libra Moons usually are very social, charming, dedicated lovers, and romantic. People tend to get along with other people who have The Same Moon Sign as them,  Or a compatible moon sign.

Ex: Libra and Aquarius are compatible, Libra and Gemini.

And Your Ascendant is how others see you, this is your exterior, the way you come off to people who don't know you. Its what you strive to be in life to an extent I think.

Planetary aspects are also very imporant in terms of your personality

ex: Moon Conjunct Neptune, Mars conjunct Pluto, etc..

Well not all water signs are born during winter, and not all fire signs are born in the summer.

Sagitarrius (fire sign) Born November 20th- December 20th

Cancer (water sign) Born June 20th- July 20th

I see where your coming from though I have a strong aquarius influence in my chart, (Moon conj uranus, stellium in the 11th house (aquarius house), mercury in aquarius )

What I have noticed, is that people who are born in winter, love winter.
And people born in summer, love summer.

Not sure about extro/intro thing though.

Actually something i've recently begun looking into but have found a shocking lack of studies into is names... names obviously have meaning to them, how much could what you are named at birth actually affect the person you will eventually become? for example I was born with the name wayne (for wayne gretzky) but when I was adopted my name was changed to caleb (the name of a completely insane warrior from the bible)... now i've met quite a few other calebs in my life, and every single one of them has been a little nuts with an interest in history and a warrior viewpoint on life... what makes me think this theory has even more legs is the interaction between names... i've had more really good friends named alex than i've had other good friends period... and every other caleb I have met has said the same thing... for some reason apparently calebs tend towards history and a mild insanity and get along really well with people named alex...

hell i've noticed it even in other names... sarah's for example have a tendancy towards certain character traits that I dislike (i've yet to meet a sarah that I've liked)... same with lukes, and meghans, both of those tend to have traits that I get along with... and I would think that the social steriotypes behind certain names would have a much stronger subconcious affect on a persons behavior than what day and month they where born in.

That's pretty interesting, I have heard stuff like that too but I haven't paid much attention to it.

I could see how a person named Linda, might be better off then a person named Natasha, when raised in a "ghetto" neighborhood , haha.

but let's keep the subject strictly Astrology please

your right, i'm sorry, I'll try to keep things more on topic... was just something tangentally related that i've been mulling over for the past 3 or 4 years so figured I would share it. and I think that your birth sign could by the same reasoning have some affect on your early childhood develpment... lets assume that 1 in 10 people have at least a basic subconcious understanding of astrology... (not a bad number I think because of the prevelance of astrology columns in newspapers and magazine stands) now, if as your growing up you come into contact with lets say 1000 different people who know your birth date... not impossible in this modern age... that means that you will have 900 people who are NOT trying to influence you one way or another, but 100 people who at least subconciously are treating you a certain way because of the sign you where born under. thats 100 people who on a deep subconcious level are treating you as though you SHOULD act a certain way, against 900 people who are treating you neutrally... because of that very subtle and subconcious push you will probably be more likely to ACT that way, because the information you are recieving is telling you that this is the way you SHOULD be acting.

Actually, Aquarius is an air sign   You'd think it was a water sign since it is the "Water Bearer," but no......I used to be so into astrology.  I still think my chart is pretty accurate - aquarius/pisces cusp for my sun sign, sagittarius moon, gemini rising.  I have a lot of saturn in my chart also, like sun trine saturn (which is good) and venus square saturn (err not so good!)

yes it is an air sign "technically"... but aquarius is just a fucked up sign in general (studies have been done and more aquarians check into the funny farm than any other sign so i'm choosing to ignore the general rules)

I find it very interesting, I am a first decan aquarius, ascendant on libra and moon on capricorn.
I Haven't looked into the moon sign concept very well but regarding star sign and ascendant everything adds up.
I'll check that link you posted.

Astrology is for people with no spines to defer responsibility for their personalities onto some cosmic force that makes no sense.

You really think you'd be that much different if you were born a month earlier? It's insanity.

Yup, I have keen interest in astrology, but don't apply it daily. It's nice to know, but I'm wary of getting too deep into astrology, it's similar to following a religion of some sort. Interesting material, though.

I'm an Aquarius (sun), Sagittarius (moon) and Leo ascendant, and a load of planets in the sign of Capricorn.
What does that make me?

Astrology and it's natal chart gathers information of the position of the planets in the signs at the time of birth. Planets transcend some sort of 'energy', and it's matters to astrologist where the energies are placed, if it aspects one other, etc. That why each personality is different, as we're born at different times, meaning different energies, and whatnot. Take a twin, for example, mostly there's one that's born earlier - and this personality differs than the one born later.
