I dont give two shits about polar bears! Lock as many of those fucking monsters up as you can and let the rest die out. Over population of seals you say? Seal Season! problem solved, it's win win in my book. Beautiful majestic apex predator indeed but I'm not trying to run into to one of those goddamn monsters while I'm clubbing baby seals!

Time Magazine, 1970's....that's hardly a right wing outfit.  There were assorted professors, etc, in those days claiming New York would be under a glacier by 2000, etc, if steps weren't taken 'Steps' i.e. give Free Money to certain political organizations and groups in the name of preventing 'a new ice age'

Time magazine is not a science journal. They write about pop science, and like all mainstream media, they do it poorly. Time has ridiculous cover stories all the time. The  invention of desktop nuclear fusion.  the next great diet. The future of just about any technology. Not to mention how many possible armegddons they have given half serious coverage.

The ice age fad, was an idea that mainstream media grabbed onto before anyone had seen the science behind the claims. They hear a catchy hypothesis floated by a fringe scientist and run the story. And real scientist are still explaining 40 years later that very few people took it seriously. "But it was in Time!" :facepalm3:

As that video shows, people were talking about global warming in the 50s. Warming has been the concern since the end of WWII.
