Anyone who's spent much time on here should know by now that there's usually no point in letting bassfreak drag you into an argument about anything. IMO making 3 movies instead of 1 or even 2 does kind of smack of a cash grab, but I thought the movie was good anyway. I believe it's actually a bit short of 3 hours, something like 2:40. I liked the movie and it didn't "feel" long at all. With very little of Elijah Wood and the overlong battle scenes of the other movies, the time flew by for me.

Pretty good write up on why the movie is going to be three parts and all the other details that some people may be bothered by. It's also pretty interesting, the extent that the directors went in researching everything having to do with the film in order to decide how they wanted to make it.

LOOOOOOL. Excellent.

I plan on going to see this as soon as possible. Sounds like a perfect excuse to go see a 3D movie to me. The other movies were so great, And The Hobit the book was truley incredible. I think it should be worth the money.

I. Am not happy with the dash for cash so I will wait until it comes out on video to see it.  Hopefully there will be a regular blue ray version I can get or watch on television...

I think it's a pretty safe bet that there will be a non-3D blu-ray available. I love how movies seem to come out on video so much faster now than they used to.

I really liked the hobbit books and lord of the ring books, but the LOTR movie was terrible.

hours and hours and hours of boring overacted crap and cgi crap and actors that aren't even that fun to look at.

i'm expecting the same from the hobbit, we'll see.

Yeah I wasn't really a fan of the acting in LOTR generally, aside from Ian McKellen. The guy who plays Bilbo in the new one is pretty good though IMO. I forget his name but he was in the Hitchhikers Guide movie that came out awhile ago.

I went into it expecting the whole book in one movie, I left pretty pissed >:(

Was honestly the most boring LOTR movie ive seen, was severely dissapointed.  I liked the cartoon one more.

I hate to be the buzzkiller, but am I really the only one who didn't enjoy the movie at all? I mean I definitely loved the trilogy but holy shit this one was boring as fuck.

The beginning just carried on soooo slow and there was barely any action until the middle/end. I literally fell asleep 2-3 times during the movie. I had high hopes for this movie, but this is what the buzz was all about

:whathesaid: Did you expect it to be non-stop action? The fellowship did not have much action either because it was setting up the entire plot for the next 2 movies. I am not here to change your opinion but if you seriously rate a movie strictly on fight scenes of course you will be disappointed.

Nah I'm not saying that I disliked the movie solely based on the lack of action, but it's just that almost all the scenes kept dragging on and on. Especially that Gollum scene. Like I said, I really was into all 3 LOTR movies,, but this was a huge disappointment

I thought it was pretty good.

Visually dank, decent acting, cool characters
