Watched The Hobbit today * 1

It WAS AWESOMEEEEEEEEEE!! Saruman even said something about radagast the brown eatting to many mushrooms, and that his teeth had gone yellow and his brain had gone mush because of his mushroom eatting habit. He said the wizard prefers the company of animals rather than men, wizards or elves.
I watched it in 3D and I had high expectations...I was truly satisfied with the results. Peter Jackson did a swell job ...I was so entertained I hardly noticed that the film was even 3 hours long

You got to see The Hobbit...it's good and probably the best movie of the year so far...Fuck Prometheus and Skyfall:shakingfist:

I'm so with you, they did a greeeat job with the film. I'll definitely be seeing it again sometime soon, possibly even reading the book again. It was that good.

Indeed, I read the book and now I have an urge to read it again because of the film :headbang3:. I still couldn't that the film was 3 hours long...I must of been so entertained by the visual effects and the dwarves, elves, stoner wizards and of course The Hobbits

I watched it last night. Great Story and visual effects. Even had a mushroom reference about the brown wizard. The movie spent lots of time setting up the story. That must be more JRR's influence instead of Jackson? Can't wait for the second movie.:thumbup:

It bothered me that they decided to add so much shit into the movie that wasn't there. I can appreciate explaining some back story that tolkien had actually written but just making shit up and adding it fucks with the whole universe of the LOTR.

Someone was mentioning that some events in the movie were taken from the book The Silmarillion. Not having read it, I'm not sure which parts those were.

I agree. The story was fine to begin with. There's no sense in a lot of the liberties they took. I found it too light-hearted and slapstick most of the time, and a lot of the battle sequences were overly drawn out. A friend of mine referred to it as "The Three Stooges Present: The Hobbit."

If they'd left out a lot of the plot additions, they wouldn't have needed to split it into a trilogy, which I maintain was purely a profit scheme. The LOTR books only got one (albethey epic) movie apiece, and they were more substantial stories IMO.

As long as there exist two slices of bread, and based on a loose definition of the word "between," the entire universe can technically be considered a sandwich.

Yeah, which is nice I guess for the people who haven't read it. Unfortunately, it kind of distorts the movie a bit.
