Suggestion: Female Forum -- Men Can Only Read, Not Post * 9

Yeah, another new forum suggestion. Just an idea I'm throwing out there. It goes like this:

I think lots of female discussion here is suppressed by the huge disparity between the sexes. By far, most Shroomerites are male. So we make two new forums. Everyone can read both forums, but one is only for female posters and the other only for male posters.

Or maybe we just one forum for women to post in which everyone can read since all the other forums are de facto man's forums already. I for one would love to eavesdrop on a female-only forum.

What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? Terrible idea? :aweman:

i think the idea of the men being able to read it is begging for drama which also makes me more inclined to think that while the idea is good on paper, like communism, it can never work when humans are factored into the equation.

How do you decide who has posting access?

Well, I think it's doable.

To post, you have to identify your gender in your profile. That feature is already there. If you leave it blank, you can't post.

As for imposters, everyone here already knows each other, so nobody's going to change their profile gender and get away with it. It wouldn't fool anyone and presumably the female forum mods would attend to this. New members could conceivably dupe us, but why would they? And even if they did, it wouldn't take long for people to get to know them and figure out the truth.

Yeah it might be a dud. The Augusta Golf Club was a men-only club for 70 years. Women berated that policy constantly. Then a year ago the club finally admitted its first two female members.

Did women around the country apply for membership in a mad rush? Nope. They mostly yawned.

You might be right. I still think it's worth considering. :shrug:

I was gonna start a poll in the Pub just now to see if the women here would be interested in this, but then I realized it would be meaningless unless I could restrict the poll to women-only in the first place. :dumblol:

Only concern would be males that change their gender to female in order to post. Though that could simply be made a bannable offense
