Possible psilocybe (pelliculosa or silvatica)

After reading about all of the success other vancouver islanders have been having finding pellies I thought I'd give my local clearcut a try. I found these little guys in some grass beside a large slash pile, they have a very obvious separable gelatinous pellicle. I am still waiting on the spore print, but the tops of some caps of the shorter ones appeared a dark purple from the spores dropped from larger ones above. I'm not sure if I can see any blueing yet.

They don't look like the pellies posted by some other islanders though, they seem a little less meaty.

Sporeprint is a purple brown colour, almost identical to that of the cyans I found a couple weeks ago.

I guess I should have posted this in the 'Request ID' subcategory, my bad.

Nono. 'sec.' means 'section', which is just shorthand for a group of species that share some characteristics with, in this case, ps. semilanceata.

Indeed. For further clarity, this section includes several species, including P. pelliculusa and P. silvativa. Differentiating those two requires microscopy.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

great! thanks everyone. I learn so much on this forum...

I am going to return to the clearcut and get some more of these guys very soon. I only looked for 30 minutes and in 5% of the cut block.

I'll try and get some pics of them in the wild this time too.
