Incredibly disappointed with Hitman: Absolution

I've always been a huge fan of the Hitman series but I can't say the same for Absolution. I really don't like this game, the new disguise system is broken as all fuck, imo you are better off not even getting into disguise. The game is so linear too, what ever happened to huge levels with all sorts of different ways to complete your objective. I was able to play through the old game's levels multiple times without being bored. With absolution it seems like they have already decided for you how you are going to play a level. There really isn't anything I like about this game other than the new graphics but I'd take the shitty graphics and great gameplay of the past Hitman games over this new polished turd any day. Sorry for the rant but I want to know if anyone else feels the same way I do.

Iunno, I've seen so many threads about video games lately in The Pub that don't get moved. If the mods see something that bores/bothers them though they'll be sure to rule #4 that shit or move it ASAP. ;D

OP, I'm sorry to hear it sucks. I was looking forward to playing that game as the other hitmans have been awesome.

Retarded console gamers raped the industry by buying any shit a publisher branded with their favorite franchise label for decades, stifling innovations and stagnating the industry. Ironically, now all the really cool, really fresh games, those tend to be PC-exclusive; built by small independent development teams- since big name publishers aren't willing to take any risk anymore.

I was thinking about buying it but it sounds like they took out everything about it that I loved. It took careful planning and a lot of run throughs to get silent assassin on the levels, its what made it so damn fun and challenging.

Same. They keep pumping out games like films now. All about the looks and no content. They should start designing games for PC again

That's why tons of f2p games and indie games are doing so well. Every month a new indie developer comes out with a great game that takes off.

Those people care about the quality of the game, especially indie developers. f2p games are quite successful because not only are they mostly free to play the developers generally listen to all feedback from the community and change the game for the better.

No one knows what they're really going to get with these mainstream games because the testing is usually done in private.

Not all f2p games are good, some of them really milk the players.

Take Nexon for example -- an international gaming company that owns many f2p games such as maplestory, combat arms, vindictus, and more. However, in order to "get ahead" in any of those games, you have to buy in-game currency with real life money, and the things you can buy are usually immensely overpriced (i.e. $30 for a single in-game weapon that is statistically 3% better then a free one) or gambling related and possibly addictive to purchase (i.e. mystery boxes).

But yeah, I guess there are some good f2p games out there.

Me too, what a disappointment. The only level I couldn't get Silent Assassin on was the one where you started in the snow and had to break into that Japanese fortress. Not the one where you poisoned homie's sushi but the one with all the snipers on the roof.

Hitman 2 was the shit.

League of Legends is free to play and currently the only game that registers on the radar for eSports in the U.S. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57531578-1/league-of-legends-the-worlds-most-played-video-game/

Also I had a lvl 105 Hermit on MapleStory, never spent a dime on the game. Maybe $10 once for some in game clothes that didn't effect the game play in any way.

Planetside 2 is getting big and has tons of great reviews, another f2p game.

I've been playing it too and it is really awful.

It is not Hitman.

Blood Money, despite it's flaws, is my personal favourite of the series. Though they were all excellent before this one.

Not played it but i have noticed a trend with large franchises dumbing down there games to reach a wider demographic (Most likely younger players).

It's really annoying when games are extremely linear, them games last a good 10 mins for me.
