I would highly recommend working for a general contractor and picking their brains, rather than going to school for such a broad and general program ... the experience will pay for itself + it won't set you back because you'll be earning while you work.

I see what your saying though .... interior renos of the type your discussing are really simple and can easily be self taught after a little bit of familiarization/experience.

I wouldn't be wasting money on school trying to learn such simple stuff - honestly, buy some tools and a home depot home improvement book, and watch you tube and HGTV.
