Wolf Symbology in Scandanavian and Vedic Religous Practices
    #17090186 -

I found a rather interesting article earlier today outlining some of the wolf symbology and mythos surrounding vedic and scandanavian lore. (particularly Berserkers and Vratya) I found it a very interesting read and thought i'd share it.

One time I was running past the point of needing to fall over, thinking of wolves, then got a second wind, it was awesome, ran home twice as fast and did feel at all puffed. I live in a virtual reality where this information is awesome but not useful. I am a Christian as my will is feeble and weak like an old woman's. Or is this just my disguise?

I don't get your need for Christianity at all, especially Catholic?  You're intelligent and thoughtful albeit fucked up somewhat. If you wanted a religion to buffer your anxieties you could come up with much more interesting and fun and inspiring ones imo.  What's up with all that? Are you hoping to get buggered or something?

I don't get anyone's need for Christianity, why would anyone want to follow a religion that marginalized abused and caused the death of millions around the world. I keep hearing the "well its not like that anymore" excuse, but thats like a woman who's wife beats her saying the same damn thing.

As for the original posting though I found it really interesting and something I might try meditating on the next time I can get my hands on some mushrooms. There is something very primal about howling, I sometimes find myself howling when i'm out in the forest.

I especially find the concept of "dual spirits" to be quite fascinating and it ties in pretty strongly to a belief i've held for a long time. that being that there is really no cultural outlet for the "warrior spirit" in our modern society, where does someone with a warrior spirit really fit in anymore?

Soldiers are not warriors, they are just rank and file grunts expected to follow orders, maybe in the upper echelons there would be room for someone with a warriors spirit but to get there you need to go through the grunt work first which doesn't seem to fit to well with the whole warrior ethos.

Need Food, Water, Shelter, Clothes and love.

Confront some demons, get to really know them at least, keep the enemy close.

Respectfully, if you are going to meditate on Lupine while traversing bifrost, perhaps be very contemplative as in prepared for an outdoor night experience, possibly no need for heroics as in dose but heroic nevertheless. My concern would be planning a night in with a blanket but having no mind but to dash out to chase the moon unprepared without warm clothes or at inappropriate location. The wild restless wolf within contained and confined may be uncomfortable.

Obviously a meditation like this would require preperations. I'm planning a camping trip during the summer, some place isolated enough as to not disturb anyone else. the summer nights get warm enough that even if I where to strip down completely naked and wander away from the fire I would not be at risk for illness. and I would make sure I had spent a couple of days in the area first as to familiarize myself with the surroundings.

Actually it may be interesting to mix some T-Iboga into the experience as I have heard claims of that stuff massively sharpening the senses. could make for an interesting combination.

Ulfrick, I must respectfully disagree with you.  "Special Forces" (Special Forces, Rangers, Paratroopers, Air Commandos, Marine Force Recon, just to name a few in the US military) exist in most modern armed forces, and I assure that these are full of Warriors.  I am one, though I no longer practice the craft, and 90% of my close friends are as well.

But even outside the craft of arms, there are many in societies who fit the description that Don Juan (in Castaneda's first two books, before he went gaga over the almighty income income available from morons) described.

Not that it matters...

There is awareness of stating the obvious that goes with absence of restraint.

I was thinking about reducing the whole article down to 3 and half words, in the style of Hollywood slang it reads "I'm a dog, yo"! Sensing the reality tunnel of fragrances and aromas. Ancient caves sweet ancient caves. Life flowing from the heart in perfect harmony with the hunt. The scent of fresh bleeding meat. Where do the secrets of the wolf spirits dwell?
