Re: Ultrasonic Humidifier setup suggestions/variations?

I've never tried the ultrasonic setup myself, but from what I've read, it seems that ultrasonics usually create too much humidity, with lots of water droplets on the cakes. Perlite seems to be the way to go.

Perlite Is the best for beginner to start on. But ultrasonics aren?t all that bad. If your planning to use one, get a model that has controls for both the humidity and volume. These model let you acridly control your humidity levels, so you won?t have any problem with thing getting to wet. Running the ultrasonic on a timer is also the best way to use it.

I started with an altrasonic right from the begining and I have had no problems with over humidity let me tell you how I did it. In the begining I used two styrofoam containers with one ultrasonic humidifier. I used a succsession of two liter bottles to trap the larger water droplets before they entered the terriums. If you set up a "tray" at the bottem of you terrium and drill a hole on the bottom then you will not have your cakes sitting in the water at the bottom. It worked out great for me and I have been able to keep the ultra sonic and use it in a variety of different set ups as my cultivation skills have increased. Hell now I use it for growing agarius bruncense (sp) and it still works great two years after I bought it.
