peach soda....:crazy2:
Sounds good.
I love pineapple by this brand.
Made in Mexico.
Get it where I work.
It's amazing. Only real sugar, no HFCS, guava is by and far the best shit ever made...

strawberry, mango and tamarind are clutch as well. Never found the watermelon, though, much to my dismay.

I live in a suburb of Detroit. Detroit's definitely got a worse rap as you said. Avoid East Side and you will be good. There aren't really very cool things to it to make Detroit a great city, but it's by no means a bad city.

go to wayne state, so i spend a lot of time in one of the nicer areas. If you are younger (and not a gang banga) and/or a professional then midtown, corktown, new center, woodbridge are all very safe areas to live in the city. Hamtramck is dope if you want a cheap ass place surrounded by arabs trying to steal the polish history.

However, once you cross certain boundaries, the city becomes almost apocalyptic. Literally, on one street you may see the most immaculate display of architecture known to man, then the next street over you see four burned down houses, three torched cars, and an endless supply of the homeless. It really is very interesting to see the change driving back to the western burbs on joy rd or schoolcraft.

Things to do in the city are endless though. From top notch musical venues, professional sports, belle isle, urban exploration, and scoring dope from the numerous dboys, Detroit manages to provide for a plethora of consumers.

Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with the city. I love the culture, the history, and the potential. However, I despise what people (white people/white flight) have let happen to one of the greatest and most important cities ever to be apart of the united states of america.

I know what you mean. I go there and think these buildings could be so beautiful, this city could still be thriving if a few things didn't happen

I have actually never been inside. I have walked and driven past countless time but never went in. I plan on putting some art in there at some point.

I did get to tour old Tiger Stadium at 3 in the morning before it got torn down. Walked down
the tunnel from the locker room and smoked in the dugout. Drank some beer on the pitchers mound.
Best times. So I chalk that up to making up for never being inside of the train station

love this fucking story

I'm from the D, but that was when I was a tyke. Got uprooted to Texas when I was a kid because my Dad transferred jobs and now as an adult I'm in Houston working. I still love the D though and have mad pride for the city. I'm a huge Tigers/Lions/Pistons/Redwings fan through and through.

One of my biggest dreams in life isn't even a dream for me -- but instead a dream for the city of Detroit. I want it to return again one day. Once upon a time Detroit was actually on its way to becoming what Chicago is today -- a huge, thriving, bustling city. Correct me if I'm wrong but Detroit was once a top 5 city in the nation as far as population. Now it has plummeted all the way down to 18. Pittsburgh had similar problems when the steel industry became somewhat irrelevant and in time they reinvented themselves into a tech city. Detroit has to reinvent itself before it's too late.

I live about 20 minutes from Detroit. It is a completely run down hell hole. Post above described it well, "apocalyptic".

There are NO good parts aside from Downtown, and even that is crummy.

I sometimes go down there to different junk yards (I occasionally buy/sell cars) and it is crazy. Half the stores are empty, bars on the windows, burned down homes, houses/cars/streets/people all in shambles!

When I was in high school I would go down there daily for weed. First time was straight out of a movie scene (bunch of black guys in thugged out clothes in the neighborhood, right outside the walls of a school, throwing dice, 40s wrapped in brown paper bags, money out, throwing money and dice on the floor)...

Been arrested in Detroit numerous times, been in a house raid in Brightmoor. One time I was driving drunk by myself at 16 in my dads car on 7 mile and Dequindre.....Was flying back home....Blowing threw red lights because "it's Detroit"....There was a cop car parked at the green light and I come flying through the red. It is 2 in the morning and nobody is in sight...I say to myself "I'm fucked" but the cop car does not even budge!

As a suburban white male in my late 20s it is extremely awkward for me to go into any store or gas station in Detroit. The people are very different. And by different I mean extremely ghetto.

Not sure how it compares to other major cities. I know it isn't the worst but it definitely is not good.

I've been to 3rd world countries (Mexico, Venezuela) and they are dirt poor. Literally. The floor of your home being dirt! But you feel a lot safer. The people are friendly and helpful. In Detroit you will be taken advantage of and preyed upon if you are not careful or talk to the wrong people.

Disagree that Em's only contribution to the city is to "try and look hard". Eminem has repeatedly gone out of his way to rep the city. He's been on commercials rep'ing the city, he constantly talks about his Detroit pride in interviews, has been in headlines numerous times in the Detroit Free Press for charity work in the city, and most importantly, he never left the city. Eminem has a net worth of over 100 million. Most people (like Madonna who is an ex-Detroiter) would have bolted as soon as they got big -- to LA, NY, or Miami or something. But Em lives in Detroit year around.

yep. all the ghetto stereotypes are true and then some. I hate when people try to sugarcoat what really is going on down there. Then on the flipside, the vast majority of oakland county is afraid to do anything but go to a tiger's game down there. The city is really trapped in fear/unrealistic optimism.

Compusure is the key when down there in an undesirable area. As long as you keep your head up and don't act like a white bitch everyone is generally chill. The cop stories are spot on too hahah. Traffic laws are white people problems in the burbs.
