Wow ShamanSean , great trip repot. The  Amanitas mushrooms sounds fascinating. Some day I wish to try this mysterious and beatiful mushroom, but probably not in the near future :smirk:

I recently did 14 gms. in a tea (first time) -- it was great!
Not very hallucinagenic, but VERY euphoric and relaxing.

From what I read on "Erowid", heating the Amanitas changes the chemical structure and makes it less nausiating and more potent.

I noticed NO negative effects at all.

I suggest SIMMERING NOT BOILING them for 1 hour plus (just starting to bubble, not a rolling boil). Of course, drink the tea and eat the 'Shrooms too.

I'm looking forward to doing this with 20 gms. by itself and about 7 gms. with 7 gms. of 'cubes.

A -lot- of mushrooms contain chemicals that will cause stomach problems, but which are destroyed when heated. Even some of the most prized edible mushrooms have this problem.

I have never tried them my self, but I see them growing in my property.
I never tried them cuz in the mushrooms books always says the the American ones don?t give you the visions.
But I believe this is a bs, nice ploy to misguide people.
I sent an e-mail to James Arthur, and he told me that they were as good as the Siberian ones.

I just wouldn't try them because I don't like the idea of messing with things that have a relatively high toxicity.  I mean, I know it's possible to dose in relative safety off of them, but, still, I don't need that extra stress.  :smile:

Yeah, I've heard that before -- seen it in a few places, most recently in a section of _American Gods_ by Niel Gaiman. On the one hand, yeah, it's a fantasy novel, but OTOH, Gaiman does an arseload of research.

I realize this is a very old post, but I decided I should post my Amanita Muscaria experience here anyway.

I consumed 2 2" caps (all caps were dried), and 1 1/2 3" caps. I gradually consumed the 2 2" caps over an hour and a half. Felt no effects except a slight loss of inhibitions (I think it is just a placebo effect though). After feeling no further effects, I got frustrated and ate half of a 3" cap, then 45 minutes later I ate a whole 3" cap with chocolate milk.

Nausea set in within 10 minutes after ingesting the whole 3" cap. I had been taking emetrol since I first started eating the Amanita caps. I took a large gulp of the nausea medicine but had to quickly head to my bathroom. I had two rather harsh vomiting sessions, mostly because the dried mushrooms made everything so thick.

Immediately after vomiting I starting feeling the effects and the nausea was nearly all gone. I honestly just felt very drunk. The room was spinning and I felt very tired. I couldn't help but fall asleep. I slept for nearly 10 hours woke up and then slept for two more. My friend informed me the next day that he was concerned about me since I normally snore but he could see that I was barely breathing.

The after effects lasted for nearly 2 days. My mind was cloudy and I had mild nausea. I also started having muscle spasms whenever I was tired after that.

I had no dreams or visual. And I definitely didn't have a religious experience. I'm glad I didn't die. It was not a fun time at all.

I have since then discovered that many people have the same experiences.
