Any fans of dub/reggae? Check out my stuff!

Hey everyone, first time making a thread here.....stumbled across this site while looking for a place to promote music, and looking through the threads it seems like people here are pretty cool and open to checking out artists.

I wrote a bunch of reggae/dub instrumental tracks using a keyboard and protools, and I'm just trying to get some people to check em out.  Most of the songs are original....there are 2 covers, both dub...the requiem for a dream theme song, and "don't stop believing" by journey...Just thought they'd sound good with a reggae vibe.

Anyways, thanks for anyone who checks em out, I'm always interested to hear other musicians stuff too, so gimme some feedback, and share your stuff!  Thanks again.

I like the composition, but the execution seems to be lacking depth.  For lack of a better descriptors, it sounds a bit manufactured / dry / synth-y, robotic almost.  Perhaps the addition of some well placed echoes, delays and/or reverb, and possibly even a human performance for some of the instrumental tracks, would go a long way toward infusing a little more soul.

Feels like it's missing something. And work on the flow so it doesn't sound too robotic. Otherwise, I loved Dub song 12.

awesome, thanks for the replies....I'm far from a pro at this, and i'm learning as i go....i'm sure i'll learn more ways to make everything sound more natural, and i'm planning on adding real guitars on some of the tracks.....

i dig ur stuff!! do u play any instruments?? i would like to see this live. I feel like making music on the computer cool and all, but nothing can beat a live band,performance is key

Hey thanks a lot man....

I am a drummer by "trade", played in a punk band for about 15 years.....we eventually stopped due to the fact that we were getting older and all that.....never really made it anywhere, but had a fun time doing it(played lots of live shows, mostly in the area we are from(ontario, canada)....you can check that stuff out at myspace.com/maw (we were called might as well....id say we were fast melodic punk along the lines of bad religion and strung out....)- as much as i love drums, they have no melody, and i've always had an urge to write.

Im a singer/songwriter. i love the reggae/dub feeling.
My homies and I have started a trip hop collective thats gonna have a reggae/dub feel. we use a plug in guitar and keep it accustic sounding, a bass, and some congos.
