Oh revenge, whatd you think about it?! I got a pretty strong opinion

So I was over at grasscity doing some reading and I stumbled across a revenge thread (http://forum.grasscity.com/general/1114005-should-i-take-revenge-6.html#post15917148)

Long story short, some chick used to pick on some guy pretty bad for no good reason, she thinks she hot/pop/the shit, is bitch to people and just a general skank.

Few years later this girl is the same but doesnt pick on him anymore, he then comes across a flyer that advertising that same girl as an escort! BTW she comes from a religious family and her parents thinks shes an angel.

Now the debate is if he should act on it.

One guy said, dude it was a few years ago, let it go.

Heres my opinion on that:

No thats exactly how people dont learn to become a decent human being.

Its not like she smartened up and is nice now.

Hypothetical:

Im get bullied by some guy my age in grade 9 and it got real bad but i just kept letting it go, skip ahead 2 years, im jacked and confident and dont take shit like that anymore, but he isnt doing it to me anymore but to the younger grade 9s. Now that I can do something about it, if I just let it go, he can continue his bullying and maybe in a year from now he bullies one kid so bad they kill themselves (like it doesnt happen! and it makes me sick). So now I this kid is dead cause no one told this guy straight and just kept letting it go.

Hm or I could be fairly civil, tell him to fuck off, leave kids alone, blah blah blah, hell he can throw the first punch on me if hes got an issue, then ill tell him to starten his ass up or hes getting charged for assault.

how did that sound?

DOING NOTHING HAS CONSEQUENCES TOO

Thoughts?

PS. IMO Petty things are not worth it

I think revenge can be justified in certain cases and I am really okay with it within reasonable bounds. 

I don't know why some people are so heavily opposed to revenge in general.  If it makes you feel more spiritual for some reason to forget about it, then go for it.  But if you really have to supress your anger about something/someone and can let it go and it will haunt you and make you bitter for the rest of your life if you don't do something about it, then there's no reason not to take revenge.

Obviously chopping his/her head off would be way too extreme but I would see no problem in spreading the word about the bitch being an escort.  She could use the humiliation anyways as an incentive to rethink her life.

As for the hypothetical bully, if he's still bullying other people, then taking out revenge on him would not just be vengeance - that would be "justice."  A lot of people want to wait around on God or "karma" or supernatural bullshit to inflict justice, but really there is nothing inherent in this physical universe that guarantees justice.  It is up to humans to enforce it and make sure it's applied.

I believe people should stick up for themselves.

Revenge can be a good thing in some cases but in most cases it's an endless cycle.

Couldnt have agreed more, people keep waiting on someone else to do something, or the law to get involved or whatever.

Have your revenge within fair means, and teach them that crossing someone has consequences.

You shut up and take it? Well shit they can treat everyone like that if know one says straightens em out.

Its sad that so many people say that you have to accept responsibility for your actions, hmm I dont really see that on an social level. Unless a serious crime has been committed, social injustice can go on indefinitely, so sack up and teach em a good lesson.
