What do you miss about your childhood?
    #16858553 -

For some reason today I've been thinking a lot about how much I miss the days of my childhood, and how early I got into things, I regret that greatly now that I am grown up. I miss imaging adventures everywhere, having fun everyday, seeing how proud my parents were of me, seeing the smile on their faces every time we were together, I miss how close family and friends were. Everything I think of now leads me to wish I could be that way once more. I miss not worrying about drugs, women/porn, nicotine/cancer. That stuff was irrelevant and life was a much more wonderful place.

So please come and share what you miss about childhood, and any regrets you have from growing up.

--------------------
I think people have a very narrow conception of what is possible with reality, that we're surrounded by the howling abyss of the unknowable and nobody knows what's out there.

Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness. And so to whatever degree any one of us, can bring back a small piece of the picture and contribute it to the building to the new paradigm, then we participate in the redemption of the human spirit, and that after all is what it's really all about.

The part where i didnt have to work or go to school

--------------------
Just when you think you're happy
I come around
I was meant to be
A punishment to you
A thorn in your side
A cancer eating through
I twist reality
And make it hard to bear
I am the only thing left
When love isn't there

I miss time.

I remember when a single day seemed like a week. I remember when summer vacations used to seem like a year. I remember when a 30 minute drive took forever.

I want time back.

I miss collecting bugs and reading dinosaur books. Actually I don't miss that stuff, if I did I could still do it if I really wanted. Nah, I miss the seemingly endless freedom ignorant bliss presents to you.

What I miss about childhood is naivety. The way that my little friends and I could get together and "teach" eachother completely incorrect facts about the universe.

Other than that though I find adulthood to be pretty similar to childhood except with extra bonuses i.e. sex, drugs and the ability to drive.

I know exactly what your saying. I you had to wait an hour to go outside, it seemed like a lifetime. Then when you did there seemed to be a lot of hours playing, but it went by so quick. I miss that fun.

Definitely the adventures. Even playing in the neighborhood or the woods nearby was an epic quest.

Also, the wonder (which drugs now induce) was nice. Everything was more magical and wonderful.

Reminds me of a quote, "Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty in simple things never grows old"

Life without drugs lacks substance(s).

Nothing in particular. Most of it was vaguely crappy and irritating. I do sometimes kinda miss enjoying video games, though. A little.

I feel like the fun I childhood and the wonder turned into the fun and wonder of drugs. But it still makes me pissed for starting even though it was at 14.

Yeah, I actually kinda miss that too. At a certain point you trick yourself into thinking you know everything. Then sometimes you realize you don't and it's like :dontspillme:

Good replies shroomerites. Another thing I miss is when you'd do something so minor like threw a rock at the side of a house, and nothing happened(poor example)I'd be all paranoid worrying I'm going to get in trouble, then wake up the next day when it didn't even matter
