does anyone find as they meditate more that time seems to disappear?
not only past and future .. but also the present?
what is this timeless stateless isness?
i guess trying to define it is an exercise in futility...
but it's about time, dammit!

Time is a relationship between two points.
Science says time stops as you reach the speed of light.
Notice when you fixate your awareness on the light of this present moment, time begins to disappear.
Science also says another interesting thing: You can never break the light barrier. Therefore the only thing that can ever be timeless (has no relationships) is the light. :sun:
Relative existence (ego) cannot enter into the light without dissolving into light.

I had a friend who on a particularly intense trip in the woods threw a bottle into the fire
and shouted, "Time? Forget about time!"
as it shattered into a million pieces
all glinting in the firelight

This reminds me of a physics class in junior high. The teacher was explaining the stages of the big bang and she said that x seconds after the big bang, time began. I'm happy she said it, otherwise I might have studied physics more seriously.

(I forgot what x was).

its funny even saying after 'x' amount of time, time began
we use a measurement of time to describe how long it took time to begin
even having to have a start/middle/end is an incorrect view of creation imo

time is a good thing to look at because it doesn't give the mind anything to hold to

they say age brings wisdom, i dont think they mean because by the time you get old you'll have read loads of really intellectual books, i reckon its because the longer you've witnessed the passage of time, the more you see how attachment is futile

Yeah it is funny that it seems to take time to realize the futility of waiting for something. Whatever fully realizes it cannot be the one waiting, otherwise it would have to accumulate that realization over time, which of course is an absurd concept. "I just got 10% more sure that there's nothing to be gained from time." etc..

If there's anything gradual about becoming wise, it has to be a process of negation instead of accumulation, maybe running out of excitable energy or something.

yeah, there's a lot to be said for attention, up to a point
eventually you can't even rely on attention to keep 'bringing you back'
as we've heard - something watches attention...

No I don't think so. Maybe when I'm stoned. I've been fasting everyday and eating at night, so hungry, the days seem long.
