Get a short philippine bolo and a back sheath to hide it, wear a long shirt.

These fuckers will take someones head right off.  When I was in the philippines, my neighbor was a marine guard, he told me they were patrolling the naval magazine with a 'negrito' philippine native, when they came across a couple of heads on bamboo stakes in the jungle.  He said they had a sign hanging around there heads, and when he asked the little negrito the guy says, 'Sign says 'Thieves, keep out'  Then he said that little fucker smiled and said, 'You see, thieves not come here anymore....'

Not one of those horrid status dogs. Get yourself a labrador (bloodly loyal things, they will defend you to their death) or german shepard. Girls will come up and talk to you (because dog owners are cool, always) and the cane is because you got beat up and your legs have never been the same since then.
