7 arrested at Starscape Festival on drug charges
Police confiscate pot, MDMA, LSD and cash

At least seven people were arrested at the annual Starscape Festival at Fort Armistead Park last week on drug charges, Anne Arundel police announced Thursday.

The June 9-10 event, in Baltimore near the Arundel line, consisted of an outdoor music festival and laser light show and attracted thousands of young revelers and dancers.

The following seven people were arrested in the vicinity of the park by Anne Arundel police or Maryland Transportation Authority Police, who were working together on drug enforcement:

Two men, James Donald Ruffin, 26, of Sandy Spring, Ga., and Jacob Asa Windeagle Ridgeway, 20, of Silver Spring, were each arrested and charged with possession, possession with intent to distribute and distributing LSD, police said.

Andrew Mark Goodman, 20, of Howard Beach, N.Y., was arrested and charged with possession of MDMA and possession, possession with intent to distribute and distributing marijuana, police said.

Summer Sunshine Broeckx-Smith, 19, of Albany, N.Y., was arrested and charged with possession of MDMA, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

David Phillip Shuttleworth, of Garnett Valley, Pa. — who turned 19 on June 9 — was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Two women, Lindsey Buchanan Welling, 20, of Lutherville, and Ashleigh Shannon Dulman, 19, of Mansfield, Mass., were each charged with possession of marijuana.

Police confiscated a total of 20 grams of suspected marijuana, two MDMA pills, almost 10 grams of liquid and tab-form LSD, and $384.

They def. weighed the carrier for that L.  Look at how little of the other stuff they found.  Less than an oz of herb, 2 rolls, and enough money to survive the festival?  Clearly that was all personal use shit, and they just fucked over some very young adults.

Yeah, they weigh the container.  :megapsycrankey:

They're all young, so lets hope for the best.  That's NOT a lot of money, and only a tiny amount of pot.  Cops just out ruining everyone's harmless good times.

I share the belief of many of my contemporaries that the spiritual crisis pervading all spheres of Western industrial society can be remedied only by a change in our world view. We shall have to shift from the materialistic, dualistic belief that people and their environment are separate, toward a new conciousness of an all-encompassing reality, which embraces the experiencing ego, a reality in which people feel their oneness with animate nature and all of creation.- Albert Hoffman

They weighed the liquid in the vial, anything you dissolve drugs in can be counted as the drugs themselves. Same with the tabs. When they smuggle meth into the country they sometimes dissolve it into liquid in big ass barrels, to make it less recognizable. Then if a smuggler gets caught they call 10 kilos 100 kilos.

the characteristic property of hallucinogens, to suspend the boundaries between the experiencing self and the outer world in an ecstatic, emotional experience, makes it posible with their help, and after suitable internal and external perparation... to evoke a mystical experience according to plan, so to speak... I see the true importance of LSD in the possibility of providing material aid to meditation aimed at the mystical experience of a deeper, comprehensive reality. Such a use accords entirely with the essence and working character of LSD as a sacred drug

So he probably had a tenpack of LSD, and they are hitting him with 10 grams.

Exactly what happened I would guess. Talk about a horror story...they just ruined his life :mad2:

I was at this festival. These arrests were not large or notable, nobody that I knew or met while there was particularly more suspicious than usual.

It also appears most of the charges were due to someone selling to an undercover, or selling right in front of an undercover. Does appear that a few personal use people got shaken up too.

I really think for 10,000 person event, 7 arrests was not worth the money that both LEA's put into this assignment of "drug enforcement".
