Strange fellas

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Next to a big leaf maple a few feet from a creek under dry leaves.

Gills:
The picture tells you better than I can.

Stem:
Several inches. 1cm thick. Colorless, solid, fairly brittle and a bit hairy.

Cap:
About an inch tops with the color of melted butter near the top. Sort of spherical, concave and bumpy/exfoliated from vertical lines.

Spore print color:
Yikes! Forgot that crucial part. Looks like dark spores from the picture.

Bruising:
Don't think it bruised any color.

Your mushrooms are not active and are of limited use as an edible species.
