wooden silverware

I have a friend that doesn't like the taste of metal utensils. She said she's looked all over for non-disposable wooden silverware but can't find anything at a reasonable rate. I did find a bamboo set for $36 per set but that is waaaaaaaay too expensive. I think it would be a cool present . Anyone with any info on this?

Gold electroplate them. Gold will taste different than steel.

If you're looking for a "set", you're probably going to have to buy it used (Craigslist or ebay).

Even the most basic, 4 piece sets at Wal-mart are $25. Its just the going rate for dishes.
