Is growing opium poppies legal in canada?

Obviously possessing raw opium is illegal, what about simply growing plants, because seeds are used in baking and they sure are pretty flowers... i need to figure it out soon cuz i have some growing in my yard and i dont want the cops knocking when they plants get bigger....

yes it's legal, i live in canada too, and have never found anything on it being ilegal

I thought it was illegal to grow in canada and america
however chances are unless you are milking and a cop walks up you wont have any problems even in america (I think)

growing the plant IS illegal though I thought
