Unusual Hunting Companion
    #15760841 -

sorry for the big pictures. ive been having trouble uploading pics here lately.

I went out hunting today. Didn't find anything too special, but a cat followed me into the woods in the rain and would not leave me alone. It followed wherever I went. and whenever I'd try to take a picture, it was there to try and ruin it. here are the pics from today.

Awesome big globs of Tremella foliacea

Cat ruining one of my pictures...

and another!

this moss was so greeeen!

this thing was ginormous and had white pours. growing off oak roots i assume. i dont know what it is.

and of course the cat had to stand on the fungus when i was trying to take a picture...

and these things were soo incredibly tiny... i dont know how i even noticed them. they were so small that it was hard to make out the details of them with the naked eye.  the caps were easily < 1mm. the pictures turned out better than i thought. it was hard photographing these.

its still hard to make out the details...so im not sure what it is.

enjoi!

Sometimes

By Thomas S. Jones, Jr.
Across the fields of yesterday
He sometimes comes to me,
A little lad just back from play–
The lad I used to be.
And yet he smiles so wistfully
Once he has crept within,
I wonder if he hopes to see
The man I might have been.

Believe it or not, the tiny ones' gills remind me of a Marasmius sp.

LOL at that cat. It wanted your attention and nothing else. Looks pretty healthy. Was there anyone living nearby?

@ Lep.. for one... the first thing that came to mine once I seen the pics...(no way to see any detail in person) was Marasmius.

about the cat... apparently they adopted the cat when it moved here... and also apparently it doesnt like people except for me...

Looks just like my cat.  The one on the oak root looks like an old Inonotus dryadeus to me.

Love the photos.  I had a goat follow me through the woods one time trying to chew on my camera.  lol.

Black cats are notoriously hard to get out of shot when you don't want them in it, and the same for when you want a photo of one, and they refuse to sit still.
These photos are awesome. All that is needed is a cup of tea!!!
