Conversely, BBC reports that Captain Francesco Schettino claims he didn't leave the ship until it was evacuated.

The water was icy cold; not covered in ice. You still wouldn't last for 2 minutes max though without a vest. And even with one, you'd wear out pretty quickly in that cold, so it doesn't degrade your argument.

yeah it says so in the article. not just the captain but other crew memebers were stealing the vest and evacuation before the passengers. fuck up shit.
