Yea I do collect vinyl. New and old. Mostly interested in rare old soviet electronica or jazz stuff. You are right, vinyl feels like the only thing worth to spend money on... My collection is growing over 1000 now.

Satori23 and I have recently started a collection of vinyl. We have inherited some from his mother like lots of Beatles, Elton John, Rush, Pink Floyd DSotM , etc.

We have lots of new albums too like Radiohead, Mates of State, Modest Mouse and Das Racist. :psychsplit:

We bought a used Meddle album at a local record store. It was in a bin for $1 because it was played heavily but it was on sale half off. $.50 for Floyd. Why the hell not. :shrug2: Got it home and cleaned it up a bit and it plays nicely ^-^

Also, I bought him Opiate when we first got the player.

have you seen the video where that dude/vocalist i think of flaming lips? makes posters or record sleeves screened out of his own blood? weird shit, pretty cool though, wish I had one. I'm too lazy to find it right now sorry.

I bought a re-press of the grateful deads American beauty!!!
I'm not usually hunting for brand new vinyls but I think I want to now. I bought my girl Adele's albums but yea my collection consists of mostly originals. Beatles, the doors, some dead. Sublime, hendrix, amongst some oldies, classic rock and just some good music. :smile: there's a good couple vinyl shops around I just can't afford to shop haha

Haha yeah, he's a sick fuck. They also release new music in weird new ways. For example, they make a gummy fetus with a USB inside the brain, or full sized gummy skulls with marijuana flavored brains, which also has a USB in it.

Very nice. I have 7 Grateful Dead records, I believe. Only two are re-issues; Aoxomoxoa and Workingman's Dead

I just had a huge score. My friend got married and just had a kid so he unloaded his collection of 20+ years on me and a friend.  I scored a shitload of hardcore, Oi!, and street punk Lps and 7"s.  I won't be buying any more wax for a bit.

Those are some sick records you inherited! I just recently started appreciating the fun in having hardcore punk vinyl. Minor Threat has never sounded so good! Likewise with Bad Brains and 7 Seconds. :cheers:

I'm a vinyl collector/listener. It's not the biggest collection but it's pretty diverse. I'd say there's about 300 vinyl LPs consisting mostly of Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits. I've got almost every Grateful Dead official release on vinyl. I've got a couple live bootleg vinyls of the Grateful Dead, Black Sabbath (Asbury Park, NJ 1975 fucking amazing), P-Funk. Lots of Jazz and Funk in there like Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Weather Report, John Coltrane, etc. Good amount of bluegrass especially Hank Williams. Just about anything that catches my eye, if it's the right price, I'll get it. It's a good way to get into music you never would have thought about before. The pricey stuff is usually something I have my heart set on and just HAVE to get. Gotta make sure it's in good condition too though...

Something about vinyl just sounds better than any other format. That lossless, pure quality... the best!

funny about the Urban outfitters scores. I actually had this Hot topic by my house years ago that carried a bunch of the Rev represses and carried Bridge 9 releases as well. Scooped up lots of cool shit, even a Quicksand 7".

Picked this up last night might be a new fave for a while, it's a first press!

Since I have a lot of Soviet jazz and rare electronica I began to digitalize my collection.


So, I started a vinyl blog:

Reviews and downloads for all kinds of music. And from time to time there will be some other good stuff too, not just vinyls. Its like online diary, but meant for public.

This week I am doing India only, but next week might be some nice electronica.
