So I waited around for about an hour for my University to start it's sale of CD's ... singles for $1 ... albums for $2 ... and vinyl undisclosed. Well, the vinyl was somewhat limited, but I found some jewels for cheap. I got Wake of the Flood - $3, Terrapin Station $4, and Shakedown Street -$4, some Tom Tom Club .. and this benefit concert for the people of Kampuchea ... including performances by The Who (Baba O'Reilly, Behind Blue Eyes), The Clash, Elvis Costello, Pretenders, Queen, Rockestra, Paul McCartny and the Wings ... all for 20 bucks. There was a double disc of a dark star, but the wanted 35 bones for it ... so's I said maybe some other time friend. Overall .. a vinyl score.

I just got Live/Dead from the University radio station. They wanted 35 bones for it, but we settled at $20. A steal indeed. There's some definite wear, but it still has the book that came with it (St. Stephen's lyrics) and the wax is in mint. I can't find any dates on it ... but it has to be at least 30 years old. There's no greater pleasure than hearing Jerry belt out the tunes through the warmth of vinyl. I can't wait to get this jewel home!
