I got PUBLISHED!!!! * 3

This is a copy of a poem I submitted to a publishing house, and they are putting me in an international poetry anthology!!!!!

That place in between places

We'd kill ourselves to fill this void.
Anything to stop the screams
Of deafeningly silent noise.

The real ruse is that since we were kids,
She THOUGHT there was a choice.
Beloved blasphemer of poise.

Frighteningly  hot lights blind me Sometimes.
Fraught in flight, Something soooo right.
As we nod between the lines.

Afforded luxuries to us tonight,
Blotchy Sparkles of white and brown.
Bring her and I down, deep out of sight.

Alas, the allure we have in store
Brings smiles and snores
That we crave and adore.

This is a poem I wrote about a beloved ex-lover that fell to an all too early ill fated demise.
I Will love her forever, transcending this human existence until we meet in hell.

Awsome, well done!!!

Nice poem. I dont read/write poetry so I cant really speak from an educated perpective but your poem seems to read nicely to me. Quite evocative, for me it conjures a feeling of loss, isolation, solitude and sadness. It's about addiction right? opiates?

Did you get paid for your submission?

Write more, your work is GOOD! :super:

It is about an addiction that a lover and I shared, which was opiates, yes...

I have MUCH more poetry, possibly thousands..... Stacks of notebooks filled.
I was compensated very poorly (300 bux and a copy of the book)
But what can I say, :shrug: I just feel lucky to be published!!!

This is sorta one of those works that for me is very personal, and not too good from a standpoint of someone that wasn't there and didn't lose her like I did, but alas, they found value in it.

Well it's excellent that you got published. That's an accolade that you can build on.

Are you doing anything else to get your work out there? Personal blog? other submissions etc? Put together your own book of collected works?
