It has only just warmed up here, so the fishing is pretty good. The warmer the water gets, the better the fishing is

I went through my old tackle and found these spinners. Think they are fine?

I also found a tassie

and yeah the yabbie rig is pretty good for cod and yellows. Do i use the same tek as bobbing them near logs and snags?

Worm bait, set and forget.

I am a bank fisherman at heart. Dont like boat fishing unless at a dam but even then i will tie up and walk the banks.

lures, 1 i not sure on, 2 and 3 have good chance at getting one.

Red and black selters are good spinners for trout.

That tassie should work its almost a brown trout lure.

I would say that brook trout are the strongest fight i have ever encountered pound for pound. They don't get very big around here though. 18 inches is a really big one. I've gotten rainbow trout, brown trout, speckled trout, lake trout, crappie, pike, walleye, bass (large+smallmouth), perch, and lots of other ones. I love fishing, its one of the best things ever!

Northern Snakhead...Invasive species from asia introduced around 2006 to the Potomac river area.  Very aggressive and known to grow more than one meter in the wild.

Me and a little baby

My friend with a 34" monster

These both hit big 8" senko worms while bass fishing a creek branching off the Potomac just south of Washington, DC.

look forward to catching a 50 incher in the next few years, they are known to grow up to 1.5 meters.  They are like giant pike that come to surface for air and are extremely territorial when it comes to their young.  If you pull a buzz-bait through a school of youngsters the mother will destroy the shit out of the bait.

Good thing is that people freaked the fuck out about them hurting the migratory shad and striper populations along with the native bass but they are proving to be much less harmful to the local food chain than previously thought.

Maybe I'll get a realll big one this spring, they are voracious feeders and grow quick.

They actually came here in the first place because some dumb ass korean business owners introduced them to a pond in Crofton, MD.  The dudes did this because they are fucking delicious and wanted some product for their local supermarkets.

Heres a pic of some frying up posted by a potomac river fishing website

Given their badass nature they were able to move from the water across land into a creek and into the Potomac, the rest is history, they are here forever pretty much.

Hmm what are the native species that they are replacing. Invasives always piss me off. Carp are quite the issue up here in Canada.
