I fucking hate windows 7

OK so I download U torrent

Specifically clicking the box to NOT install the utorrent toolbar

but it install it anyway like a cunt

OK so I look to see if theres an uninstall and theres no uninstall

right, so I go to my computer and Use remove programs. There it is, I click remove programs and do that

AND ITS STILL FUCKING THERE

so I go back to remove programs to try again - but its not in remove programs anymore

So I start seacrhing the c: drive trying to find where this little bastard has hidden itself praying for some kind of uninstal

I mean WTF man. This is why I like the days win '98 - at least I had control of my computer. This is a fucking joke, it beyond a joke. I cant even control what shit is on here :kingcrankey:

Never had this happen to me, and I use utorrent on multiple Windows 7 PCs. :shrug:

are you using firefox? if you are i believe you have to uninstall from your browser... not 100% on that

Chrome - i got the bastard out - found an uninstaller buried deep in the utorrent directory :tongue:

Just hate these black hat dastardly deeds.

I have a new problem, some of my forums and my google mail is coming up in a rediculously large font - like HUGE.

I checked chrome options and its set medium, so I try setting it next one down, small and the large shity is still large but the normal sites are tiny!!! So I set it back to medium again lol but the large sites are still massive. Its bizarre.

I never had this issue on XP using chrome.

wow now the text on this site has just turned tiny on its own

must be something to do with the tracker pad and mouse buttons but theres no cenrtral roller

tried double cloickign and shit wtf lol

CTRL+0 should default the text size in Chrome/Firefox. (The number zero.)

I could be wrong, but I have no idea where the perception that utorrent is an application that belongs to only windows comes from? can't you use it on mac and other os as well? oh well maybe not.

Who in this thread has that perception? It literally takes a maximum of 5 seconds to go to the utorrent website to see that it does support Mac and Linux as well...

if he doesn't have that perception, then he sure seems to come across that way. I've never used utorrent myself, because I don't plan to torrent very large files copy and paste clip board style. I don't like burning files that need two disks from downloads off the internet.

if one file won't fit on either

a) cd rom (700 mb)
or
b) dvd rom (4.7 gb)

then I don't want to burn it. guess I'm just lazy

Nah, Linux isn't really superior. Some people prefer it to Windows, that's all.

Then get used to it, and a couple of weeks/months down the line, realize that Win7 is the best Windows yet. At least, that's what I think. It's stable, reasonably quick and very user-friendly. I use Linux and Win7 side by side, but all considered, I definitely prefer Windows.

QFT and seconded by someone whose life all but revolves around PCs. Win7/Server 2008 isn't perfect, but it's the best there is and best that has been.

Yah, I still have XP on my computer (LOL!), but my girlfriend has 7 on the laptop I got her last year and as she is more-or-less computer illiterate I am constantly doing things for her with that OS.

It's pretty intuitive to me. I sometimes have to use Google to find out where certain menus are (couldn't find the sharing options to set up media server to allow her PS3 to remotely access her PC files), but all-in-all I think it's better than XP.

windows 7 still has the same virus potential and registry issues and missing update support it's always had. some things may be tweaked, and it still requires a password, and may be better then xp in some ways. I recently downloaded windows virtual pc, and tried to load windows xp mode, microsoft web site updated my computer, and the updates kept the partition from loading after boot and grub load. well no grub. I had to try and find the repair options on the windows 7 disk, which I couldn't as opposed to xp. I found a start up option that allowed me to remove previous updates. To me it's just a fancier version of windows that has a little more security.

linux on the other hand has a master ful root folder file system. At least I think so. At least I'd go as far to say the file system root folder isn't targeted as often as windows, and is more stable. linux is a night mare to people to want to use universal programs and play video games and don't like evolution, thunderbird, open office, or any other. on the other hand, anything open source generally works as well on linux as it does on windows, and you can use any internet browser except internet explorer. I myself have seen windows mess up so many things without even having a virus to ever really call it 'a stable file system' in the fat32 ntfs thinking.

on the other hand it's user friendly. I've had linux now for 5 months, and have noticed that user documentation of disk defragmentation(fsck right?), virus scans, cookie cleaning, is barely documented as it is so little needed to increase or preserve performance of linux. now from a front end interface point of view, linux = better then windows? no. windows = better then linux? no. In that case it is definitely just what the user prefers. I know we've gone over this, but I just wanted to clarify what I think from other threads before posting in here.
