most of the accounts I have read say that it is a fair bit more painful while being done, but that it actually heals and stops hurting much faster. If I do, you WILL see pics.

It does look like a good place to start, plus I'm checking some works and it is an interesting type of tattooing, I'd say go for it:thumbup:

I'm going there for about a month. I'm sure I'll be able to get a feel for things in that amount of time. Probably wait till towards the end to do this if I do.

For some reason I would try my best not to get pricked by a needle in Thailand.

If I were you I would get a hooker instead.

Depending on where you are getting it, back, leg, arm, make sure you have enough time for it to heal. I could see that making for an uncomfortable plane ride back to the states.

Of course never having had a tattoo, i am just making an assumption.

I've just always wanted to go there. I've been captivated since I was a child. The art, the food. That and I'm trying to get away somewhere warm each winter

That'd be an awesome tattoo. Definitely do it. My experience is that there is not a tattoo painful enough that'd deter me from getting what I want on my body.
