You can use the same controller hardware for the ultimate slow cooking. Actually, that solution was posted a few months ago here in the Culinary forum - was that you?

Wow, complex. I make my yogurt in a gallon jar, wrap in a towel and place in a cooler. Works for me. Yogurt is one of the quickest & easiest microbe-assisted food products to make at home. Experimenting is fun and I can't hate on that! Yay for nerds!

Have you tried straining the yogurt to make greek yogurt? Fresh greek yogurt is like fucking ambrosia to me! It's so cheap and easy to make huge quantities. Can't believe how much they sell this stuff for. *sigh* If only more people in the USA would learn how easy it is to produce food...the world would be a yummier place. It's not hard to incorporate food production into everyday life. Especially the things you want to eat everyday. Food Network needs to start showing how to produce food, not just cook it.

You could make the whole thing into a contained unit by ditching the arduino + laptop and just use a PID temp controller + relay. I dunno, just my thoughts because I really suck at designing code. Maybe I should just practice...
