Astral Planes and Reincarnation

So you've got a physical body, and a subtle physical body.

Do you think the astral planes are proof of an astral body/soul which reincarnates, and can jump or balance between different levels astrally and can receive meaningful information from the planes?

Or do you think something along the lines of "the brain can create any experience it wants and there is no proof of astral planes existing"? I can see death anxiety in both trains of thought, hmm.

i'm all for reincarnation but i agree that astral experiences don't require you to believe in it

One thing that convinces me that astral travel is real is the fact that you can open your eyes during sleep paralysis and bring the hands of your astral body out of your physical body and see them with your physical eyes.  Actually, you can see right through your astral body hands, but can see the light refraction at the edges.  Its best to do this in a lighted room.  Sunlight works good.

when i do yoga i see light refraction all around my body, probably coming from a subtle body

I read Robert Monroe's book Journies Out of the Body before I did it myself.  He describes a similar experience to the one I talked about above.
