This makes me sick. And to make me feel worse, I grew up in the county next to Cumberland. For those too lazy to click the link:

On Monday, December 5, 2011, a proposal is being presented in Cumberland County, North Carolina that all “Dobermans, Rottweilers, Chow Chows, German Shepherds, Great Danes, Pitbulls, Mastiffs (all bully breeds), Akitas and Huskies” will fall under a new breed ban.

According to  a report published by Compass.org, “These dogs will be held for the mandatory 72 hrs and then will be killed, they will not be given a chance to be adopted.”

“If the dog is an owner turn-in, he will be killed the second he walks into the back.”

This ban will only result in mass extermination of innocent animals.

A petition has been created to try and stop the breed ban.

I mean, I suppose we could at least eat them, but that would be a health standards nightmare.

Presumed problem being way, way too many stray animals becoming a public nuisance and a threat in the form of a disease vector.

Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture. Obviously they would stop killing the animals after the population was decreased sufficiently. Remember, we created them. These animals don't survive except for symbiotic relationships with mankind. When we starve, they'll starve with us (and be eaten).

It is, however, very good reason to have your animal chipped so that they can never evade identification and become mistakenly killed.

I'm not saying it's pretty, or that I am happy about it. It's just the grim reality of life as we have it set up. If none of us kept domesticated pets PETA wouldn't have a reason to exist...

This is unfortunate. I had a Rottweiler and have been taking yearly trips to Outer Banks, NC since I was a baby.
It stopped around the age of eleven along with the breath of my beloved Rottweiler Maggie. I love the state but in no way to do I support this. This is just pure pet racism. Every person is different, just like every animal.
More than half these dogs would be considered innocent in the eyes of the law if they were human.

I'm not surprised that you cant understand that putting down diseased, stray,
feral or vicious dogs is better than putting down healthy family pets, you
couldnt be bothered to verify what some tard on the internet 'news' website
