This movie didn't make me think at all. It wasn't a new concept to me I guess.

I thought it was a little twisted, but I enjoyed it. Wasn't what I expected though. It could have been better, but it also could have been worse. I'd give it a 6.5 to a 7 on a scale of 1- 10.

rofl to see people give this movie a bad rating makes me want to cry
it seems that theres people who see it, love it, and do their homework on it
and theres people that have no clue whats going on because they can't think logically, and automatically assume the movie is bad and the ending sucked

not a new concept? i dont know, i haven't seen a movie come like this
infact, i did my homework on it a 2nd time recently, and if you tell me it isn't a thinker, you obviously are the problem, not the movie, because my mind was racing like i was on acid trying to figure out things such as god's channel, death and time travel, etc

also, there was a lot of shit cut from the movie so unless you see the full dvd you're only seeing half the picture

Billy Madison kicks ass!!!!!!

I think people who think Donnie Darko was an awesome movie are easily astonished. First of all, that Bunny suit was cheesy as hell and wasn't a bit scary or cool. Secondly, there is tons of shit in this movie that has nothing to do with anything! How the hell is 'Cellar Door' the best phrase in the english language? Why the......why the heck is there even a middle to this movie?

i dunno... i've talked to people who didn't get the movie
then from not getting it they accuse it of not being good

its mostly foreshadowing anyways.... cellar door, Hello?, thats what it has to do with it

i'm not sure if the bunny suit was suppose to be scary.. it was interesting, the movies actually quite funny too, the authors only purpose in the movie is for comedy pretty much

definately did make me think about a lot, wasn't something i'm easily astonished by.. took a lot of mental effort--could you suggest another other movie that a couple of people could discuss the same as they could with this movie?
a lot of stuff wasn't explained purpose just so people could discuss it and come up with theories

imo waking life is a lot better to read as a book or just read the script than watch the movie.... it doesnt work as a movie really, i haven't seen the full thing but i watched most of it and was just saying this is good but it's just.. not ment to be a movie

Donnie Darko is awesome.

Waking Life makes me very happy.

Last time I watched it it kept fucking up though, because my X-Box (which I was using as a DVD player at the time) is a piece of shit.

I'm going to have to go with Murex on this one. Overall, Donnie Darko was okay at best. I saw the full dvd with all the explanations and cut scenes and stuff. I just think the movie aimed to be something that it didn't come out to be. It's not really a 'thinker'. The directing was ok, nothing mind blowing. Vanilla Sky is one of my favorite movies. Donnie Darko was an unfinished product that could have been much better in my opinion.

vanilla sky hm i remember when i borrowed that movie i was like "what happens it becomes all a dream after a while or something" then i watched it and was like meh damnit... i knew it ;x still a good movie none the less--i liked donnie darko a bit more though, probably because it was a bit funnier plus i just liked when he was posessed and all dark looking

The best part of Donnie Darko is when they're all sitting around shooting the shit and they start talking about the Smurfs and stuff. That was pretty funny the first time I heard it.
