Anyone here a glider pilot?

I want to do the add on rating. I know what the requirements are to do this, but I hear that the weight limits are pretty restrictive.

Im about 6'3 and 270 lbs. Anyone with experience that knows if there is a plane Ill fit in?

Id like to try this myself.
Im about 5'6 and 140 so dont think Ill have too much problem...but Ive never seriously looked into it, only been curious about it...


Killer I think he's talking about handgliders....

That or glider planes, which are enclosed and you sit in em but they have NO propulsion device...they are typically dropped from a carrier plane:

I heard a story one time about a guy in Central Oregon. He rented a glider, got a tow to 2000 ft then flew for 7 hours. Crossed the Cascades, the Valley, then the Coast Range and back. Its just amazing to me that such a thing is even possible.

Its pretty cheap to learn too. Not like the other ratings, that shit broke the bank, and continues to do so. Im just hoping I can find one that will fit my fat ass, so I can learn in it.
