Sometimes I hear voices
    #15317891 -

It's not all the time, but it's always at night. Usually when I'm starting to unwind.

They're always distant.. I can't ever make out what's being said. It always sounds like a crowd of people talking

Like it just sounds like there's a tv on somewhere, but there wont be. I also live about 4 or 5 miles away from anyone else, so I know it's not someone outside or anytthing.

Alot of the times it sounds like music, but still it's always distant. I know it's all in my mind, but still

:feelsweirdman:

I'm not looking for anyone to troll me, I'd like some serious adivce on this please.

I'm happy to answer any questions.

Same here! It's most often music for me. TV is the second most common.

I just assume it's my brain being overly active, trying to grab extra information from my environment, and then elaborating a bit too much.

Thanks for your reply. I think the same thing about my brain being over active

I don't know if it's 'schizophrenia' or not, but I never like have voices talking directly to me. But then again, I don't know alot about Schiz.'

try taking 1mg of xanax and see if that helps...or something else to chill you down a few notches.

Experiment to see what helps and what hurts. Start deduction from there.

What would a doctor do if I told him this?
I wouldn't be admitted to a ward, would I?

Not unless you were a threat to yourself or anybody else in their eyes.

He would run tests and put you on meds and you would probably be eating pills the rest of your life.

A lot of the psychoactive medications they might put you on are just like their illegal counterpart in that taking them for a while and then stopping usually has bad consequences....

if I was you, and if the voices don't frighten you or cause you serious distress.... just ignore it

See: hypnagogic hallucinations. Weird nonsense your brain pulls as you're about to fall asleep.

Totally normal.

That's how I know I'm falling asleep, actually, my thoughts stop making any sense.

It is probably an overactive imagination. If the voices start saying things you understand and are negative then you have a problem.

Sleep deprivation

don't let it stress you, stay healthy and well rested, if drug use fatigues you and make it worse, well then you should stop using.

you can block it out with background music and noise when trying to sleep.

but whatever it is, don't let it get to you. alot of the time its very easy to tell what is something you have imagined, or is clearly ' not real ' and what is real. just relax and let it pass. and don't try to overthink it or grapple with whats going on. treat it like the sound of birds chirping in the morning - to be ignored and expected.

but if things get worse and it starts distressing you, or your having a hard time coping with it, then you should probably get some help.

Also, if you're sleeping next to your computer or any speakers it could be coming from them.  This is embarrassing but I used to hear voices when I was going to sleep for a good few months.  I finally realized that my computer speakers were picking up on some talk radio station lol.  It was such a faint noise that I couldn't pin down where it was coming from and it felt like it was right in my head.

I've also legitimately heard voices 7 or 8 times in my life, normally as I'm going to bed.  I know I'm not schizophrenic, but I do know that the more you obsess over it, the more the symptoms will bother you.  Don't label yourself with any of these wild disorders the medical community has made up.  Unless you feel it's hindering your every day life, you should be fine and it should get better in time.

these types of mild hallucinations are fairly common... try drinking 1-2 cups of valerian tea throughout the evening and take 100-200mg of 5-HTP one hour before you go to sleep... these will set your brain up fora good night...

Wow. Op. U and i both dude. I totaly get the sense like the tv is on or distant voices behind the door.  Like the tv is on but then theres nothing there. Mdma and xtc highten this for me. My theory is that u may b getting in touch with ur paranormal side. I swear to god when my best friend died i was standing by his grave after tripping on mescaline all night and i could hear him yelling 'can u hear me'. He was yelling it but it was faint like on another frequency.

U could possibly b hearing things on another wave length. Try getting an hd camera and voice recorder. And build off from there.

I've actually thought like that before.
