Not a big fan of opiates in general and never tried suboxone, but it sounds godawful.

He had been a heroin addict for 20 years and wanted so bad to get clean this time.  He ended up disappearing from treatment for awhile and we thought he was gone and wouldnt come back but he did come back on his own after his relapse and seemed motivated to dust himself off and get some clean time under his belt again.  A few weeks later my counselor broke the news that he relapsed again and this time died.

it just gets a bad reputation because people do not understand its potency and duration and dont realize that "yes you can cut an 8mg pill into 1/8s and each one of those 1/8s is a dosage used for chronic pain".  It is only in such high dosages in the form of subutex and suboxone because of poor bioavailability and because they want to keep an addicts opiate receptors over saturated to block other opiates and hopefully block cravings.  To an opiate naive person a dose of buprenophine taken in the correct amount like 1/8-1/16 of a pill will give pleasureable effects.  If you over do it though, just like any opiate you are going to get realy realy sick and have a terrible time.  Its a drug active in micrograms  in a milligram pill and that causes problems for a lot of people if they dont know what they are getting into.
